Turneffe Island Resort

Turneffe Island Lodge is located beyond the Barrier Reef in one of Belize’s three atolls. The atoll is about 30 miles long and 10 miles wide and has many small cayes. We offer three fantastic routes to get you to the resort, including one that passes over the famed Blue Hole, a World Heritage Site.

Option 1: Direct Route to Turneffe Island Resort (Blue Route)

BHTIR

After you board the helicopter, the flight goes directly to the waters of the Caribbean Sea. See the colors of the Sea changing as you get at different angles. Fly directly over the Barrier Reef where when across it, all you have is fresh air and the view of the deep blue sea. Not further along you will be able to spot the Turneffe Islands and not too long before arriving at the final destination of Turneffe Island Lodge in Big Caye Bokel, located at the southern part of Turneffe Islands.

Option 2: Belize City and Reef Flight Transfer to Turneffe Island Resort (Red Route)

After you board the helicopter and start your journey, the flight takes you to view the beautiful City of Belize. It’s just like a land tour of the city only you get to see more from the air. The flight out of Belize City will take you directly across into the cayes that borders the Barrier Reef. The flight willthen continue along the coast line of the Reef passing over Cayes like Swallow Caye, where you will be able to see Manatees swimming around; Gallows Point, Spanish Lookout Caye, Water Caye and Goff’s Caye. Then the flight continues as it crosses the Barrier Reef and unto the Turneffe Islands to the white sandy Lodge in Big Caye Bokel.

Option 3: Blue Hole Over Flight Transfer to Turneffe Island Resort (Orange Route)

After leaving from the Belize International Airport, the flight takes you over the mainland and directly into the crystal Blue waters of the Caribbean Sea. You will quickly have the Reef in view where you will fly over Gallows Pt. At the cross over of the reef you will view the rushing waves that fight to get across the reef. Open your ears as the music of the waves take you far away into a relaxation zone. Keep your eyes open too; you may be one of the lucky few who get to see sharks, dolphins, sting rays, manatees or crocodiles along the way.
